It’s SPRING!  Well, we technically still have a few days of winter left, but I’m so excited for spring I’m skipping right over them.  Our winter Knitalong is in its final stages and it’s time to look forward to our next KAL for SPRING!Shellseeker

Shellseeker is the epitome of Cape Cod nautical wear.  Whether it’s a quick late-spring walk during your lunch break or a cool summer evening after a day on the beach, you’ll find yourself reaching for this pullover over and over again.  How many scallop shells can you stash in the kangaroo pocket?

The pattern is clearly written and suited for an advanced beginner knitter.  It is worked from the top down in one piece, ensuring that the stripes line up and there is minimal finishing work to do.  I’m highlighting two amazing yarns from Berroco that would be perfect for this project – Maya and Indigo.

Due to its construction, Berroco Maya is the perfect cotton yarn for someone who is a little bit nervous about knitting with cotton.  It is lightly stretchy like a wool and knits like a dream.  Berroco Indigo is cotton recycled from DENIM JEANS!  You know me by now… my work uniform is a t-shirt/sweater and jeans.  I’m in love with every color in this palette and it has me dreaming of all sorts of summer projects, not just this knitalong.  I have a swatch and skein of both yarns on display at the shop for you to try out next time you’re in.

Take 10% off your order of any color of either of these yarns!  The hardest part will be choosing your colors….  If you’re not a fan of stripes because you’re afraid of how they’d look, I’d recommend giving them a try with two colors that are closer in value than the ones in the pattern photo.  Two shades of off-white Maya, maybe?  If stripes are definitely NOT your thing, choose one fantastic color for the whole project!
