Celeste and I are coming up on one FULL year of blogging here at Sage and what a year it’s been! Let’s look back at some of the highlights!
We hosted Máire Treanor for a class and history lesson in Irish Crochet Lace. She was gracious enough to sign a few copies of her book, Clones Lace: The Story and Patterns of an Irish Crochet for the shop (there are 2 still available).
Local designer and crocheter, Sandy Powers, held an event at Eight Cousins Bookstore, down the street. Her book, Baby Crochet, is filled with adorable patterns for the special little one in your life.
Celeste came out for a class in two-handed colorwork, featuring her Rocky Ridge Hat pattern. You can purchase her pattern via Ravelry or in print here at Sage.
We held a yarn tasting, where we tried out some of our newest fun yarns and a trunk show with Ana of Toil and Trouble.
My favorite tip – No stress long-tail cast on!
My favorite FOs – Aeneas from Norah Gaughan Vol 9, and Prairie Earth & Sky Cardigan from Fearless Fair Isle.
Our new best-selling yarns this year were all yarns that are designed to stripe. Plymouth Gina, Cascade Casablanca and Crystal Palace Mini Mochi were all a HUGE hit!
Celeste and I went to the TKGA Grand Retreat, where we met famous designers, fabulous instructors and wonderful knitters.
What will 2013 bring? I hope it brings us all a lot more fun with yarn and fiber!
