Fingerless Gloves! Cowls!  Headbands!  Earwarmers!  Hats!

There are a lot of “hot” quick projects this year.  Mom (Deb), Carol, Jane and I have all been hunting for the perfect patterns for those on our list.  Here’s round 1!

Jane whipped up this lovely lacy knit headband, using this free pattern by Adrienne Cray, and just a partial hank of Plymouth Homestead.  This popular design has been the rounds on Facebook and Pinterest, and Jane’s version turned out just beautifully!Headband-and-cowl

We recently loaded the shelves up with some Plymouth Encore Mega and Encore Colorspun Mega.  Within just a few hours of putting it out, Carol had this little number 100% completed.  She found this fun free pattern on Ravelry, that uses knits and purls to make a spiral around your neck, and cut it down to a “one skein” size.

Super-bulky yarn makes some VERY quick projects.  Mom used another free pattern designed for Galway Roving (which we also now have in-stock and ready for you) to make a sparkly drop stitch cabled cowl.  This is probably the most involved pattern of this trio, but at less than 6 hours for the project, you still have time to have one around your neck for a New Year’s Eve party!  HPKY Venice is a fluffy alpaca blend with just a bit of sparkle underneath.

These are some of the few gifts that you can make instead of purchasing this year and still have time to breathe.  You can check out our examples in person at the shop (at least, until we give them away over the holidays!).  Round 2 – a few more quick gift suggestions – is coming up next week!
