This winter, Jane ran our very first Mystery Knitalong and, WOW, was it a hit! For this project, Jane chose a really fun and inventive scarf pattern that she could divide up into different “clues” to deliver to our knitalong members once a week.
The full pattern requires 6 different colors of sport/DK weight yarn and guides you through 10 different stitch patterns, plus an interesting i-cord edging. It was very fun for us to see the progression of all the fabulous projects as they transformed from six skeins of yarn into different shapes and textures. Jane knit our store sample in the colors in the thumbnail above. You have to come see it in person!
Pattern: Road Map Scarf by Susan Barstein, available for download via Ravelry or in print at the shop.
Materials: Cascade 220 Sport in 6 different colors, US 4 needles for knitting back and forth, plus one long circular needle for picking and knitting the i-cord edging.
If you haven’t picked up your hard copy of your pattern, we have them on hold at the desk, so stop by sometime soon (if you can’t make it in, let us know!). We have the next MKAL picked out and will be announcing it very soon. Watch this space!
Two of the most popular stitch patterns used in the scarf involved slipped stitch colorwork. Check out these related patterns that use those skills in fun and different ways!
