What better time to feature a fabulous crochet designer than National Crochet MonthMon Petit Violon boasts some of the most beautiful crochet patterns and photography on ravelry, yet her work is accessible to crocheters of all levels.  Clothing and accessories for children make up the bulk of her offerings, but several stunning cowls are also available!  We’re so excited by her work, it was hard to choose what to hook first!
Mustard Bow Dress WIP 5The Mustard Bow Dress, a sweet design perfect for the advanced beginner, finally won out.  It’s an excellent introduction to top-down crochet design, with simple shaping and a smooth transition between stitch patterns.  The yoke features easy double crochet stitches while the complicated-looking body and sleeves are just two pattern rows that repeat over and over again!  Perfect for learning to read your stitches, and you may find that you’re able to memorize the stitch pattern, too!  So satisfying!  Mon Petit Violon is exceptionally clear in her pattern writing, and offers lots of images and stitch counts as you progress through the pattern to help you keep tabs on your work.

I can’t wait to finish up this little beauty — but in the meantime, here are a few more shots of those lovely stitches!
