Over the past few years we have been expanding our local and unique goods to offer you a little something you won’t see anywhere else! For the holiday season, if you’re shopping for a fellow yarn lover, we have a few beautiful things for you to consider.
The right buttons can take a sweater from simple to outstanding! We have a wonderful selection of ceramic, wood, shell and stone buttons that are all one-of-a-kind.
We have a selection of pins from Cesar Palma, a very talented local jewelry designer. These designs are hand-carved bull’s horn:
I love how the natural variegation of the horn makes each piece an individual work of art! These next pins are a combination of a gold or silver-plated brass pin with a butterfly, shell, or horn topper. It’s unfortunate that I can’t capture the full beauty of these pins in a photograph but I hope you can get an idea of how wonderful they are:
We have a strong locally spun and dyed yarn section, including locally grown wool for spinners. Here you can see yarns from fingering/sock weight to worsted weight wool, to rare breed wool handspun.
Over the summer I met Frances from Lulubelle bags at the Falmouth Street Fair. I was so enchanted with her bright and fun fabrics and her bags were all so well-made, I had to ask her if she wanted to sell here at Sage. Here you can see Carol modelling her new Knitting Sheep project bag!
These large project bags are handmade in Massachusetts and feature a fun fabric detail, artist’s canvas, sturdy handles and a zipper pocket on the interior. Frances also makes keychains, pocket tissue holders and these large and small notions bags (I have a large one and use it almost exclusively, now):
We hope you see something that would be perfect for the yarn-lovers on your list! In addition to all of our unique and locally-made goods, we are also all stocked up on Eucalan no-rinse wash, needle and hook sets, and gorgeous, fancy yarns.
