Two weeks from yesterday we will be hosting one of the world’s experts in Irish Crochet Lace – Máire Treanor. We are incredibly excited to meet her and to learn about the history and techniques that create this amazingly beautiful lace.
Máire’s book, Clones Lace: The Story and Patterns of an Irish Crochet is now in its second printing. You can also find examples and instruction in a series called The Story of Clones Lace currently running in Interweave Crochet! Máire has not only spent years preserving samples and patterns that have developed since the nineteenth century, she is also a proponent of modern adaptations of Clones Lace. In workshops around the world she has shared with us the joy of working with fine thread in the Clones style.
