Knit in Public Day is coming up soon!  In celebration, we are collecting hats for Cape Cod Head Huggers!

Hats are perfect projects for relaxing on the beach, car rides to graduation ceremonies or your Knit in Public Day gathering.  They are small, they don’t use much yarn (you can use up your stash and scraps!) and they make a BIG difference.  We hope you will participate!

Cape Cod Head Huggers’ hats provide wonderful moments of comfort for those in need right here on Cape Cod.  They focus on donating to Falmouth Hospital and cancer treatment centers throughout the Cape, which is about as local as you can get!  So far you have donated hundreds of hats – let’s see if we can add another huge donation by the end of June!  Hats can be a variety of styles, techniques and sizes, but should be made of a soft, machine-washable yarn.

A hat is a great opportunity to learn a new skill on a small scale.  Get to know knitting or crocheting in the round or using new and different stitches.  Stripes and colorwork are welcome, as well as cables and lace!  Browse Ravelry for something new or use your favorite pattern from your stash.  The possibilities are endless!  If you need any help with your hat, we are here for you.
