Spring has officially sprung, but it’s feeling more like summer here in the Northeast! Hooray!
There are few things I love more than sitting on my porch, listening to the birds while I knit and spin. Spring and summer garments are great for trying out new yarns, funky colors, textures, and new techniques! They tend to be sleeveless, which makes for a quick knit and less yarn to buy. . . so you can make more of them 🙂 What’s not to love about warm weather knitting?! Consider making a shawl for cool nights, or a new tank to wear with your favorite summer skirt. These are the projects that currently have my eye for Trumpet Hill samples:
Tahki’s Ripple yarn is a thick-and-thin mercerized cotton, perfect for summer! Celeste (besides being my name) is a new novelty yarn that is cut and sewn together to make the halter top on the left. Yes, please!
. . . and here are links to a few more shells and tanks to consider, including Vogue’s Cropped Tank Top from last summer, perfect in Classic Elite Classic Silk or all-cottons like Mirasol’s T’ika or Berroco’s Pure Pima; Knitty’s cute Make Up Your Mind Tank which I’m trying Elsebeth Lavold Hempathy for; and I love the side detail on this gorgeous crocheted DROPS top, which would be luxurious in Mirasol Tupa, a silk/wool blend. YUM!
So what plans do YOU have for the upcoming warm seasons? We’d love to hear, and help if we can!
