Pattern: Inspira Cowl, by Celery Stalk
Yarn: Malabrigo Merino Worsted (1 skein) & Noro Kureyon (2 skeins)
Needles: Size 10 24″ circular (Knitter’s Pride Dreamz Interchangeables)
Size: CO 144 stitches, following Mesa Rock sizing guidelines
Special Notes: Knit a mash-up of the Mesa Rock and Afrique versions of this cowl, with a few additions of my own! To avoid the problem of bi-colored purls, I worked the first two-color rib rounds in knit.
CeleryStalk came up with this gorgeous cowl, easily sized up or down to become a shoulder warmer or neck piece. The knit and purl columns alternate colors to create a corrugated rib, and provides an excellent way to practice your two-handed colorwork! It’s also a great chance to try a little design experiment of your own! I tossed in purl ridges in my contrast color between each section of staggered columns, and then towards the top of the cowl, worked a (k10, k2tog) decrease round to subtly taper the shaping without changing needle sizes.
