March is National Crochet Month! As a local yarn store we have traditionally been a little knit-centric. When my parents bought the store my Mom had only just learned how to knit and didn’t know how to crochet. As a result, we don’t have a huge back-stock of crochet samples or patterns. Over the past few years we have worked to increase the presence of crochet. Jane and I have been making more display samples and running classes, and my mom recently learned how to crochet (finally!).
My Crochet Month goals are:
- To complete a handful of samples for the store to become a more complete yarn store.
- To try a new crochet technique.
- To finish off at least one of my older crochet UFOs!
Are you a crocheter? Do you have anything planned for Crochet Month? Here are a few things to inspire you! (links point to the Ravelry pattern page)
Baby Leprechaun Hat by Sandy Powers

If you don’t already know how to crochet – now is the time to learn! Sign up for our Beginning Crochet series with Jane, “The Art of Crocheting“. She has designed a wonderful class featuring wash/dishcloths that allow you to both practice your crocheting and complete a project!
